The
Community
NET-Workers
The
Community NET-Workers Project was created in honour of 2001, the United
Nations' International Year of Volunteers. The Community NET-Workers
project is part of a much larger vision about how we need to inspire,
instill, and support the development of citizenship and build Civil
Society among the "NET-Generation". Schools will "adopt" a local, community-based
non-profit group: boy scouts, minor hockey leagues, churches, synagogues,
temples, 4H clubs, boys and girls clubs. Working with these groups students
will create and maintain Web sites for local non-profit community groups
in order to help bridge the digital divide. Local school boards can
host these pages.
