Track
Gender Disparity
International
project Track
Gender Disparity for pupils between 14 and 17 years
old in secondary schools all
over the world. In 2000 the United Nations agreed to work on the
reduction of differences in opportunities between boys and girls.
The first step is the elimination of gender disparity in primary
and
secondary education, preferably by 2005, and at all levels of education
no later than 2015. It is goal number three of what is called the
Millennium Development Goals (MDG). The goals are measurable with
clear indicators. The pupils of your class are warmly invited to
join an international project when they work with Track Gender
Disparity. They investigate the achievements so far for Millennium
Development Goal # three in their own country and they compare
their results
with the research done by pupils in other countries.Teachers
are supplied with teachers materials and background information
when
they join the project. The final aim of the eight Millennium
Development Goals is to get better living conditions and better
opportunities for all the people all over the world in the year
2015. By this project pupils world wide work with the MDG's and
they know what the consequences are if we don't educate girls.By
this project several country reports are produced by pupils world
wide. They analyse and compare all
the data world wide in their final report. They are invited to
submit the collected information and their analysis to their
leaders.
