City-to-City
Relationships Project
Cities
and local authorities have been fostering international cooperation
since the foundation of the first international association of local
authorities in 1913. Town Twinning, Partners of the Americas and Sister
Cities are some of the earliest examples of City-City. In recent years
City-to-City relationships has widened considerably on the initiative
of community leaders, City Corporation Leaders, Mayor's Councilors and
individuals with the encouragement and assistance on international associations
and networks of local authorities. You are invited to share "lesson
learned" through your relationship, and what your city has done; or
is doing to improve the management capacity for sustainable urbanization.
The Theme or the United Nations "World Habitat Day" is City--to-City
Co-operation.
