Reading Newsgroups using Netscape

1. In order to configure your web browser to read newsgroups, select the Messenger function in Netscape. You can either locate this through the shortcut icon at the bottom of the browser (two word bubbles) or you can click on "Communicator" in the menu along the top of the browser and select "Messenger."

2. Once you are in the Messenger Mail and News system of your web browser, select "Preferences" under "Edit" in the menu bar. Click on 'News Server' under the 'Mail and Newsgroups' heading. Then click the 'Add' button and enter 'foro.iearn.org' in the 'Host' box. This is where the iEARN project newsgroups are hosted. When you're done, click 'OK' and then close the Preferences menu by clicking 'OK' again.

After you have done this, you need to "Subscribe" to the iEARN newsgroups. Click 'Subscribe' under the 'File' menu. This menu will appear:

Open the 'apc.iearn' folder within the 'apc' folder. You will see a list of the iEARN newsgroups. Click on the box next to the newsgroups you would like to read and then click the 'Subscribe' button.
