The United Nations (UN) named August 2010 – August 2011 the International Year of Youth with the theme “Our Year, Our Voice.”  The U.S. Department of State is organizing an Exchange 2.0 Meetup to highlight the power and future of virtual student exchanges, or Exchange 2.0, on the occasion of the upcoming UN High Level Meeting on Youth, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (ET)  (14:00 - 16:00 GMT). 

The event will feature participation by Ronan Farrow, Senior Advisor for Global Youth Issues to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Director of the State Department’s office of Global Youth Issues, and Kalpen Modi of the White House Office of Public Engagement.   Along with other representatives from a range of organizations that support youth exchange, iEARN-USA students, teachers and alumni will be presenting on their experiences with Exchange 2.0.
