Chapter Four: Support for Coordinators
a.Resources for training workshops/professional development
Resources for training workshopsTake a look at the Indonesia Case study provided by Hasnah Gasim.
The workshop included experienced as well as new iEARN teachers. As part of the training,
Hasnah asked the participants to write a brief report on the benefit of iEARN.
The 17 responses provide a wide range of PBL experience and access to computers but they all demonstrate how iEARN touches each teacher.
You can use this case study in your own workshop by having each participant read a different case study and then share with the other
participants the greatest benefit of iEARN in their case study and try to relate this to their own experience.
Georgia and Israel partnership Case study Indonesia Case study Visit the iEARN Indonesdia website What can you do if you want to train teachers in iEARN project work but you don't have the funds to pay their travel costs? iEARN Israel and iEARN Georgia faced just this situation in October 2007. So instead they used SKYPE to deliver a successful virtual workshop. Read the report on the to learn how to set up a SKYPE virtual workshop. Ruty suggests that you have 2 computers at the same room - one for the SKYPE and the second for the presentation. Remember - 2 computers means two teachers, two guides, at the same time! Feel free to modify Ruty's slide show to use a project that you are familiar with. Download introduction powerpoint (1.3mb) Good luck and let us know how you get on! Contact Ruty Chotzen
