Using the "Manage Account: My Country" Administrative Features of the iEARN Collaboration Centre Below is an outline of the basic tools available in the "My Country" section of MANAGE ACCOUNT section of the iEARN Collaboration Centre. To access the My Country features of the Collaboration Centre, login at the top right.
Click this "My Country" link in the Account Menu on the left side of the page, and you will be taken to a page of "People Needing Validation." These are people who have registered at http://media.iearn.org/request, and indicated that they are in your country. You should have received an email notification of their registration. You may want to communicate with the new teacher to learn more about their interest in iEARN before you make their record active. Some countries have membership processes (some have membership fees) that new registering teachers need to follow before making them active. [When a member teacher gives students their own User Names and passwords, you also receive an automated message, notifying you of this. You do NOT have to approve these. They are sent for your information—so you will know what teacher is involving students in the forums.] 1. PEOPLE NEEDING VALIDATION On the administration page, you can click on the person’s name and their contact information will appear. This list of "new" people cannot access the iEARN Collaboration Centre unless you validate their accounts. Check/tic "Update" beside the persons you would like to change. You have four action options for each person appearing on this list.
2. ACTIVE MEMBERS By clicking on "Active Members" you will receive a list of all the iEARN members in your country. You can manage their accounts in the same way. * Note: We are currently working to solve a technical problem with the display of "Inactive" records. We recognize that this is a useful list for coordinators to have access to as an indication of people who have expressed interest in iEARN in the past, and may become members in the future. Until this is fixed, feel free to email support@us.iearn.org for a list of the "Inactive" records in your country.
