Ms. Farah
Kamal participated in a CIVICS professional development exchange from April
29 to May 19th. She participated in YouthCaN in New York City and then traveled
to Massachusetts and stayed with a family in the town of Natick.
During her stay, she visited several schools including Hudson Middle School; John F. Kennedy Middle School; Hudson High School; Noshouba High School; Parker Charter School; and Phillips Academy Andover. The focus of the school visits was discussing with teachers, principals other specialists:
- How technology is is integrated curriculum from grades V-XII?
- How reading and writing curriculum is taught?
- The philosophy, structure and standards of charter schools?
- How project-ased lesson/topics are taught and assessed?
- Focusing the support system to difficult and low performing students.
Ms. Kamal made several presentation in schools presenting and answering questions about Pakistan and Islam to the students of Social Studies and world Cultures.
