A Vision 2008: An Anthology of Creative Writings and Artworks is a project that intends to show more than just the artistic capability that the youth hold. Moreover, it intends to bring out a spring of emotions and ideas from young hearts and young minds. We, the student-facilitators, whole-heartedly welcome you all to our A Vision family.
Writing, according to the dictionary, refers to characters or matter inscribed with a pen or the like. But, what is indeed the true meaning of writing? While working on this project, we, the student-facilitators, found out that there is more to writing than the strokes of a pen. We have discovered the true meaning of writing; and that is the expression of thoughts, and emotions. It is the act of transferring the things in our hearts and minds onto the page.
The articles and artworks submitted were all fascinating, which made our role as facilitators a pleasure rather than a burden. We all enjoyed reading the articles, and through reading them, we have come to share your joys and sorrows. We all enjoyed looking at the artworks, and we could not help but marvel at the colors and the intricate detail of each work.
One of the best things that we experienced while working is the interaction. It feels very fulfilling to know that in a small way, you have touched a life or two, or even more, and have your own lives touched all the same. But it does not stop there. An even more satisfying feeling beheld us, as we became bits of inspiration to others, as they became inspiration to us, too.
Being student-facilitators became a way for us to gain new friends and learn new things. We realized that each person has his or her own unique way of looking at things. We realized that even at a young age, we have already gone through so much. We realized that even if people are of different nationalities, we have similarities: we all think and feel, and we all can write and draw.
All of us have come to realize the beauty of writing through this project. We hope that others would, also.
